About Patty Bird, pastels

Patty Bird Story

A career as a letter carrier on the Russian River provides me with unlimited inspiration. The towering redwoods, lush plant life and changing seasons bare subjects for my art. A love of animals, especially birds and horses, allowed an exploration of color.I hope  that others will enjoy my reflections on our amazing world.

About Alisa Clapp leather art

Alisa Clapp Story

I love leather.  iit is so versatile and allows me to stretch the boundaries of my artwork. I'm always trying new things and learning new things and new ways to use leather.  I find find inspiration at thrift stores, garage sales or in other repurposed or found items. My process is similar to paper mache, but with leather, glue and fabric. The leather is worked in various stages from soft to hard and often carved or painted.

About Penny Knapp, watercolors

Penny Knapp Story

st

I paint in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media.  I love plein aire painting, and am most drawn to the evanescent intrigue of light and reflections. I enjoy riffing from images of people to paintings that imagine more about them, and painting imagined aspects of old and new stories.

I returned to painting after a full career as an academic physician.

About Angela Mills, ceramic artist

Angela Mills Story

Tis fair to say I spend most days slipping and carving my handworks of clay. As a permanent resident of West Sonoma County, I have enjoyed many years   creating work in the Ceramic Arts.  My home and the surrounding countryside are a source of  inspiration which enhances my designs. I use multiple construction techniques: Hand Building, Coil, Slab, Extrusion, and Wheel Throwing.  My work is embellished using Slip Decoration techniques which feature Scgraffito, Mishima, Carving and Texturing.

About Sandra Maresca, watercolor and oils

Sandra Maresca Story

I love to share my work with the public in my “art barn” studio on our historic property in Guerneville, CA. I believe that art is a unique way to touch another human being in a visceral way. I work in a variety of media: oil, watercolor, pencil, ink, needlework .  My subject matter is diverse -- faces, figures, quirky still lives, animals, landscapes – whatever intrigues me enough that I want to reveal something about it.  I want to  capture the spirit of my subject or to create a mood.

About Aaron Poovey, jewelry

Aaron Poovey Story

I started doing art work in the 1980’s. My work consisted of stone sculpture, bronze sculpture, steel sculpture, and jewelry. In 2002 I began working with  silver and gold  smithing to set the gems. In 2010 I started cutting my own gem stones. I use many sources for materials but enjoys most going to Tucson every year for the some of the best stones.

About Bonnie Smith, oil and monotype

Bonnie Smith Story

My  work is largely narrative and figurative. Each tells a story. My imagery invokes a sense of mystery and surprise. I want to record an inner reality and also to surprise myself! I work mainly in oils and monotypes.  My narrative stye fits with my work as a librarian and a voracious reader.

About Nan Still ,watercolor

Nan Still Story

I have lived along the Russian River since 2008.  Before that I painted the River area during times spent at my cabin in Guerneville while living and working in San Francisco.  My palette is the greens of the redwoods, the golds of the vineyards and the blues of the river.  I try to capture the beauty and elegance of the Northern California forests, the charming characteristics of the older cottages, the ever changing vineyards and the life of the Russian River. I am available for private commissions.
